A call for proposals focusing on the Danube Region has been launched in the framework of the EUREKA cooperation, which brings together 45 countries from Austria, Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia and Germany.
Joint innovative projects between enterprises and research organisations from the participating countries can be submitted bottom-up in any technological field without any thematic restriction. Eureka projects aim to research or develop new products, technologies or processes in the framework of international cooperation.
Projects with a maximum duration of 36 months require cooperation between institutions from at least 2 EUREKA Member States from the 9 countries providing the funding (6 of which belong to the Danube Region). In addition, other EUREKA countries or organisations from outside the EUREKA area may be involved in the projects with public or private funding.
The costs of EUREKA research projects launched between December 2022 and February 2023, which have been selected as winners of this call, will receive public funding under conditions that vary from one Member State to another. The budget of any one institution or country cannot exceed 70% of the projects submitted. National organisations may apply for a maximum of HUF 70 million per project, with funding intensities varying between 40-100% for industrial research and pilot development, depending on the type of institution. On the Hungarian side, the participation of a for-profit institution in the consortium is mandatory!
The deadline for the submission of the EUREKA Danube Call is 30 June 2022. You can find more information here.
The EUREKA Danube Region Call also contributes to the overall objectives of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in the priority area of the Knowledge Society (PA7).
