This activity is a contribution to the overall program of the Slovakia under the presidency of the Slovak Republic in the Visegrad Group (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023). The workshop is a follow-up to the initiatives of the V4 countries, specifically Poland (2020) and Hungary (2021).
In addition, the workshop builds on the theme of water scarcity and drought that is embedded in the thematic area of the EU Green Deal and Climate change agenda, as well as in the Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) Work Programme 2022 – 2024. An Ad hoc Task Group has been established by the European Commission and Member States that address the water scarcity and drought in the context of a new EU Climate Adaptation Strategy.
