On 24-25 February 2021, a workshop was organized on Preparedness Practices within the framework of the DiMaND and PROFOUND projects. One of the aims of the workshop was to help both project consortia to understand better the aims of the other, to find synergies and connecting points. Whereas DiMaND is a strategic project, PROFOUND is a more operational one.
The event was held together with the EUSDR PA 5 Disaster Management Working Group (DM WG). The DM WG of EUSDR PA 5 aims to develop cooperation between disaster management stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of disaster preparedness and response at regional level. The main goal of DiMaND project is to support this initiative and to strengthen the Disaster Management Network in the Danube Region by promoting the network of governmental and non-governmental disaster management organizations.
Due to the pandemic situation the event was held as a hybrid-style meeting both in person and online participants joined the discussions respecting the current safety precautions.
After the introductory presentations the Preparedness Practices workshop has started with the 1st session discussing the outcomes of the 2nd Annual Practitioners Forum which mainly focused on the training aspect of Preparedness Practices.
The 2nd session put the emphasise more on collecting good practices of the partners in training, capacity building and knowledge-sharing.
