II. Danube Rope Rescue Contest

On 23-24 August 2024 the II. Danube Rope Rescue Contest has been held successfuly. 11 teams had the chance to compete for this year’s title at 6 locations (Matthias Church, Buda Castle, Hármashatár Mountain, Libegő ski lift, Vajdahunyad Castle, National Athletics Centre).

  • M-size Women’s Rope Team China

 

 

Members of the start-up teams perform rope rescues in industrial, urban or natural environments specialists, industrial alpine technicians or wood caregivers who are complex in the execution of competitive tasks set up and operate rescue systems providing a pre-defined uniform framework observance of the rules.

 

The Competition was, supported and endorsed by Hungary Helps, aimed to promote rope rescue while bringing together professionals from different branches of the profession within the framework of a friendly competition. The event promoted communication, exchange of experience and the development of new relationships. It is especially welcome as there were various nations among the participating teams.

The competition was supported by the EU Strategy for the Danube Region Environmental Risks Priority Area as the theme of the competition reflects the priority area’s flagship disaster management working group and greater goal of disaster management. The priority area assisted in procuring the first day’s dinner catering service.

 

 

 

The final ranking of the teams after careful evaluation is as follows: 1. PAD Rescue Team, 2. Chisholm Trail Rescue, 3. Gasiliska Brigada Kopar, 4. M-size Women’s Rope Team China, 5. Kispest Firefighters, 6. Mohács Special Rescuers, 7. AV Police Rope Team, 8. VIII. District of the Budapest Capital Fire Department, 9. Budapest Alpine Team, 10. ResCuties, 11. Budavár Firefighters.
