HUNGARIAN JOURNAL OF HYDROLOGY SPECIAL ISSUE:
EU SDR PA4 and PA5 in collaboration carried out aspecial issue of the Hungarian Journal of Hydrology in October, 2017. The publication was introduced to the public in the Annual Forum in Budapest. The forewords by the coordinators of the priority areas are describing in details their long term perspectives. The topics have been gathered from the side-event of the Hungarian Hydrological Society annual conference which was an international conference session on flood protection experiences, techniques and technologies. The special issue on flood protection experiences of a the scientific journal deals with effective mitigation measures and extremities, like the ice phenomena. The articles give an overview about the running projects and their capitalisation progress with the support of the priority areas 4 and 5, stressing the circumstances of the paralel execution of the Water Framwork Directive and the Flood Directive. The edition puts an emphasis on the financial possibilities and the indentified gaps in flood protection education as well.
