EUROPEAN CIVIL PROTECTION FORUM 2018 WITH EUSDR PA5CONTRIBUTION
European Civil Protection Forum 2018
We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2018 European Civil Protection Forum “Civil Protection in a Changing Risk Landscape” is now open! The conference will be held between the 5-6th of March in Brussels (Charlemagne building, Rue de la Loi, 170 & Berlaymont building, Rue de la Loi 200). Interested parties are able to register until 9th of February 2018 at the conference website. Seats will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, taking into account the room capacity in the different sessions.
The Forum is the largest recurring public event on European cooperation in civil protection and is organised every two years by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO). Since its inception, in 2003, the Forum has largely contributed to shaping the European policy on civil protection and disaster risk management.
This year, the discussions of the Forum will be structured around four policy axes:
- – Strengthening Europe’s preparedness;
- – Simplifying European collective response;
- – Scaling up prevention
- – Fostering resilience and cooperation with Europe’s neighbourhood.
Conference session “Cross-border cooperation for effective disaster risk management” will be hosted by the four EU macro-regional strategies on the first day of the conference between 17:00-18:30 (Pillar#3 – Scaling up prevention). The session will also include a presentation about EUSDR PA5 related objectives and activities presented by the Hungarian coordination and it will be followed a panel discussion about the role and possibilities of macro-regional strategies in European Civil Protection.
Please note that the event will also be web streamed. The link will be published on the conference’s website. If you have any questions, please contact the organizers:
