FIRE-IN PROJECT IS LOOKING FOR ASSOCIATED EXPERTS
Fire and Rescue Innovation Network (FIRE-IN) project has been designed to raise the security level of EU citizens by improving the national and European Fire & Rescue (F&R) capability development process. FIRE-IN project implementation started in May 2017 for the upcoming 5 years within the European Union Horizon2020 Programme. The Danube basin is represented by 3 German and 1 Czech partner institutions out of the overall 16 partners from 8 EU countries of the consortia coming from the field of fire service practicioners, research, standardisation bodies, governmental institutes and business. FIRE-IN propose a methodology that aims to support the identification of practitioners expectations and the uptake of research and innovation accordingly. Setting up an e-FIRE-IN platform the project outcomes and best practices can be shared among the broad network of professionals from whole Europe.
During the 5 years of the project, several collaborative works involving a large panel of fire and rescue experts from all the Europe will gather the practitioner’s capability gaps. Therefore, the FIRE-IN partners invited any interested practitioner’s organization or individual to take part in the initiative as Associated Experts, in order to participate to the different workshops and discussions that will occur during the project.
EUSDR PA5 coordination is keen to broaden this network with relevant institutions and professionals from the Danube Basin in order to increase the preparedness of the region agains environmental risks such as forest fires.
