Up to nose in water
For more than 20 years a series of major International Conferences on Flood Management (ICFM) was organized resulting in significant contributions with respect to managing growing flood-related risks. Since COVID-19 set in, the series, as many other things, were disrupted. Professors Slobodan Simonovic, Chair, Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, Western University, Canada, and Zhang Cheng, Chairperson of the Permanent ICFM Secretariat, IWHR, Beijing, China, however, did not let this magnificent initiative die. So the ICFM was continued in the shape of webinars. The next one will be broadcast on March 22, World Water Day, focusing on floods and climate change with the participation of National University of Public Service Hungary. Come and join the show.
