MEETING WITH EXPERTS FROM BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA IN HUNGARY
A delegation of five from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited Hungary on the first two days of December. The experts and representatives of the Bosnian water sector met with the representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and of the Strategy for the Danube Region and with professionals of the Hungarian General Directorate of Water Management.
On the first day of the visit the delegation had the opportunity to join the program of the closing conference of SEERISK – a main project of PA5, aiming to harmonize risk mapping and assessment methods. In the morning a visit to the Gellért Hill Water Reservoir was organized, then the group joined the lectures of the conference. The program of the second day was dedicated to get an overview on the Hungarian water management sector, and its flood forecasting and prevention measures and – with a series of lectures – about the related PAs of SDR (PA4 and PA5), and the potential possibilities and cooperation within the Strategy.
Bosnia and Herzegovina articulated their intention to become more active and engaged to the work of the SDR therefore further discussions and visits could be envisaged towards a more fruitful cooperation with the Danubian countries.
