On behalf of Mr. Roman Havlíček, Director General of the Directorate of Water Policy of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, we are sharing an invitation to the upcoming Workshop „Towards a better understanding of drought impacts and risks in water management sector“ which will take place on April 4, 2023 (on-line).
This activity is a contribution to the overall program of the Slovakia under the presidency of the Slovak Republic in the Visegrad Group (July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023). The workshop is a follow-up to the initiatives of the V4 countries, specifically Poland (2020) and Hungary (2021).
In addition, the workshop builds on the theme of water scarcity and drought that is embedded in the thematic area of the EU Green Deal and Climate change agenda, as well as in the Common Implementation Strategy (CIS) Work Programme 2022 – 2024. An Ad hoc Task Group has been established by the European Commission and Member States that address the water scarcity and drought in the context of a new EU Climate Adaptation Strategy.
Therefore, Slovakia joined the forces with the Ad hoc Task Group to complement the initiatives of EC and V4 countries.
We would like to ask you to send confirmation of your participation in the event by March 31, 2023 to the address email@example.com Registration for the workshop is open – we encourage you to share this email with your colleagues who would be interested in participating.
