Just in Time Training of Volunteers

The Just-in-time training webinar was organized by 5 international projects focusing on disaster response from various aspects. It was a great success with more than 200 attendees.

 

DAREnet project, which is supported by the Environmental Risks Priority Area, was also introduced by Mr. Christian Illing who presented the DAREnet project’s objectives.

 

The Chairman of PA5 Disaster Management Working Group also gave an overview of the just-in-time training of volunteers, who are involved in disaster response: “Learnings from past and recent disaster events”. Mr Zsolt Kelemen talked about the Danube Flood in 2013 and the experiences that the flood response authorities and voulunteers gained from it. Then he presenteted the concept of the DM WG and talked about its expected results in the future.

 

The meeting was very succesful, all attendees could get valuable informations about disaster response concepts.
